What is Weapons Training?
Owning a weapon for protection of yourself or others is often a personal decision. We believe that if you own a weapon you should know how to properly carry and use it should the need arise to prevent unnecessary injury to yourself or bystanders.
These special event classes provide training for defensive tactics in the event that you have access to a gun or knife for protection of your self or others. We will discuss the proper safety methods for handling, disarming, and defending while using the weapon. These courses cover the legal aspects of owning and using a weapon.
How do I get started?
Weapons training class offerings vary from month to month. These are typically run as a single class seminar. If you’re interested in attending call us (321) 631-7996 to sign up.
When are classes?
As a seminar class weapons training classes usually are on a Friday or Saturday. Check the calendar for the next available class.
What can I expect?
Weapons training classes cover how to properly use a weapon for self defense. This involves learning basics of handling the weapon, hands on training, and safety instruction. For training purposes, in the school, we only use knives with dull edges, and rubber or airsoft guns with protective safety gear as necessary. This provides the safest learning environment for everyone.
What if I’ve never used the weapon before?
Experience required with the weapon varies depending on the class. A general comfort in handling the weapon is desirable but our instructors will work with you if you have any difficulties.
What kind of clothing and gear do I need?
Standard fitness clothing of a t-shirt or athletic shirt with sleeves and shorts or workout pants are recommended. If you’re ever not sure, ask one of the instructors.
Shoes are optional but we require that all shoes have non-marking soles and that the shoes only be worn inside the school. This protects the specialized mats and keeps them clean from outside dirt and other debris during classes.
Do not bring weapons for training unless they are approved rubber or dull bladed and have been approved by the instructors, or from a previous class at this location. No live weapons training will be performed at this facility.
Who is this class for?
These seminars are for all ages 18+ interested in weapons training for self defense. Advanced classes may require previous experience with the weapon. Information for each seminar will be made available based on the class offering.
